In the event of inclement weather, umpires and players should call (413) 587-1044 or check the City of Northampton’s Cancellations Page to learn if the Northampton Rec Department has canceled the game. If the city closes the field, there is no game, and the umpire does not have to come to the field.

If a team has extra players, they are encouraged to share players to ensure the game can be played. Team reps also have access to a list of volunteer subs, if needed.

The home team rep is responsible for notifying the umpire AND field liner of the cancellation.

If your game or practice is canceled for reasons other than rain, call the Parks Dept at (413) 587-1040. Letting them know as soon as possible is very important.
