Softball Fields

Sheldon 2 (Gush) [S2] and Sheldon 3 [S3]
If your team is scheduled to play at the Sheldon fields and it rains, call the Northampton Recreation Department at 587-1044 after 4:30 pm and listen to the recording to see if games have been canceled.

Practices: For teams wanting to use a Sheldon field for practices, you must contact the Northampton Rec Department directly to reserve fields: 587-1040. Teams can schedule two dates at a time. Be sure to pick up your slip before the practice. The office is open until 4:30 pm.

Directions to the Sheldon Fields
Sheldon Fields is located right off Route 9/Bridge Street. There is parking in one of the lots or on the grass of the Three County fairgrounds. Sheldon 3 [S3] is the softball field set farthest back from the road. Sheldon 2 Gush [S2] is the field closest to the main parking lot with dugouts.

From 91N (or Route 9 West from Amherst):
— Turn left off of Exit 19 (you'll be on Route 9 W)
— Go under the overpass
— The road narrows to a single lane, with a stoplight for turning left onto 91S
— Go through the stoplight, past some houses, and immediately after, you'll see baseball/softball fields on your left. Turn left onto Old Ferry Rd (If you reach a cemetery, you've gone too far on Route 9.)

From Northampton center:
— Take Main Street (which becomes Route 9 East) out of town, towards (but not all the way to) 91 South
— You will pass the Post Office, Bridge Street School, and a cemetery
— After the Three County Fairgrounds, turn right onto Old Ferry Rd. (If you reach a stoplight or 91 S, you've gone too far on Route 9.)
